What do they eat? Mocking birds are omnivores which meets they eat everything from regular bird seed, to fruit, to even bugs! If you’re looking to attract them at your bird feeder, they love dried mealworm blocks as well as regular bird seed.
How do they behave at the bird feeder? Mockingbirds can be quite aggressive and territorial. You may only see one or two of them because they will chase off other mocking birds and sometimes other birds. If a mocking bird is not letting other birds eat from the bird feeders, try having a few feeders in different spots. We’ve found this works so that everyone gets some food!
